A simple idea, really.
Documenting the process
We want to be transparent with those who have chosen to trust us. That is why we are committed to documenting and sharing our entire process from the very beginning. We strive to explain all of the behind-the-scenes complexities that a project like ours entails.

Dani
If there’s one thing Daniele loves, it’s humanitarian photojournalism. He even has an altar venerating Salgado, to whom he prays to each morning. Dani is a Master's graduate of photography and media, specialised in documenting humanitarian pursuits in developing countries. Daniele currently works for another NGO as a communications specialist, photographing and interviewing those downtrodden by social crises in Europe. Dani is our media. He knows the List of Aesthetics by heart, and he will be the one with the analog camera and the Panama hat.
J
Jaco
Where did this all begin? From coconuts in a hostel on the beaches of Thailand, to an international NGO operating from 3 countries, meet the team behind the idea:
In 2017, Joaquin travelled to rural Zimbabwe on a cultural trip and discovered the inaccessibility of education for remote students, catalysing the idea of a dormitory. Since then, Joaquin spent his post-graduate years working in and studying construction management. It is through this experience that he was able to collaborate with architects and builders to design a simple, practical, and safe blueprint for a dormitory that could be built and repeated with ease. Currently, J is living out of a van and spending hours and hours each day on his laptop, bringing this project from conception to reality.
Over the past years Jacopo has established himself as a true adventurer. After graduating from university and working for several years as a sustainability specialist in a large Italian fashion group, designing sustainable business practices and collaborating with environmental NGOs, Jaco decided it was time to see the world for himself. From working in an orphanage in Uganda, to having penicillin injected into his eye in the Bolivia, and a whole lot more in between, Jacopo has seen what the world has to offer. With a degree and years of experience in corporate communication, Jacopo is the face of our public relations and our behind-the-scenes man for the necessary dread of the business world.

Vision
Community Partnership
We believe that education should be accessible to all, despite rurality, density or poverty. Lovemore Project envisions a world where every child not only has access to education, but has access to a safe, secure and homely environment from which they can undertake their studies.
The mission of Lovemore Project is simple: to provide safe and adequate shelter for children without access to it. We start with a small location: Hwange, Zimbabwe, and a small solution: a dormitory. A cost-efficient, practical and repeatable blueprint for sheltering students, making education accessible wherever we can.
Lovemore Project is run entirely from volunteers. Our organisation has three founders who contribute to the day-to-day running of the not-for-profit, and we enlist the help of other specialised volunteers as we need. So far we have worked with volunteer architects, accountants, builders, designers, IT consultants, NGO executives, videographers and business consultants in the launching of our organisation. A core value of our organisation is charitable commitment. We strive to keep our charitable commitment to 100% of donations. As such, we are a 100% volunteer association, with our own equipment, and working online. Therefore we have no salaries, office rentals, corporate perks, company cars, fuel cards, or any of that superfluous stuff. We were founded as a grass-roots charity, and we aim to keep it that way.
Mission
For us at Lovemore we believe wholeheartedly in community partnership. From the locals in Hwange who catalysed this idea, to the World Vision executives providing the pathway, to the corporate contacts sponsoring our build, to the volunteers who have aided us in creating this project, to the personal donors, and even to you, volunteering your time to read about our cause. Community is both everywhere and inevitable. In fact, the name ‘Lovemore,’ was inspired by an incredible Zimbabwean man, Lovemore Nyoni, who works as a field officer for World Vision. When J first met Lovemore in 2017, he was inspired by the man’s passion for helping his community. And it was this community passion that inspired J to create the charity.
For this project, we have partnered with World Vision Zimbabwe, who have generously donated hours of their professional time outlining the logistics needed to complete this project.
We are always on the lookout for new partners, corporate or charitable, who wish to aid us in the financing or construction of this dormitory. If this is you, don’t be afraid to hit that ‘contact’ button. We look forward to hearing from you!
